Overview

The Welder position at Martin Marietta involves safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining industrial equipment and machinery, including conveyor systems and mobile equipment. Responsibilities

  • Inspect machinery and equipment to identify hazards or issues requiring welding services.
  • Determine reasons for malfunctions of metal components and create a welding maintenance or repair plan.
  • Repair machinery and equipment to maintain full functioning capacity with moderate supervision.
  • Review blueprints to understand equipment placement and provide appropriate service and repairs.
  • Keep records of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including supplies ordered and used.
  • Ensure routine maintenance work is handled regularly to reduce risks and costs.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance, moves, and installation projects as needed.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to take on other tasks and assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Vocational training or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year related experience.
  • Welding and metalworking skills.
  • Mechanical analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with design tools and mechanical controls.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Time management skills.
