Overview

This position is for an Air Reserve Technician (ART) who will serve as a supervisor overseeing employees involved in the evaluation, repair, and modification of aircraft structural assemblies and components. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and must maintain active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as section supervisor over employees engaged in condition evaluation, test, repair, modification, and overhaul of aircraft structural assemblies.
  • Identify, remove, and prevent corrosion on assigned aircraft and ground support equipment.
  • Inspect machines, weld, repair aircraft parts and components, and design and manufacture support equipment.
  • Provide training to reservists in task accomplishment.
  • Perform work planning responsibilities.
  • Perform work direction responsibilities.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities.
  • Apply EEO/EOT principles to personnel management actions.
  • Serve as technical advisor to Flight Chief in resolving production problems.
  • Ensure compliance with security directives and promote safety and health habits.

Additional Information

  • ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.
