Overview

The Tank Lead plays a pivotal hands-on leadership role in overseeing daily welding and fabrication operations related to tank production within a manufacturing environment. This position ensures tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the work of tank welders and fabricators on the production floor.
  • Schedule and prioritize tank-related welding and assembly tasks to meet production deadlines.
  • Perform complex welds and conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Train, coach, and mentor junior team members and new hires.
  • Monitor workflow and ensure adherence to project timelines and safety protocols.
  • Review and approve team members’ timecards and manage time punches in the HRIS system.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the tank production area.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align tank fabrication tasks with overall production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Tank Supervisor.
