Overview

The Welder Sr - N2 position at Lockheed Martin involves producing high-quality welded components and repairs for aerospace programs, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards. The role requires collaboration with various teams to meet production targets while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations on aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and specialty alloys using various techniques.
  • Set up and adjust welding parameters based on engineering specifications.
  • Operate robotic welding cells and manual stations with precision.
  • Cut, trim, and fit components using saws, shears, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Conduct visual and non-destructive inspections on welds.
  • Document weld reports and traceability data in SAP/Ariba.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Complete weld logs and inspection records for each job.
  • Communicate daily with team members to resolve issues.
  • Assist in training new hires or apprentices on welding techniques.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on welding experience.
  • Experience welding aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and high-strength alloys.
  • Basic proficiency using software for data entry and tracking.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational welding program or associate degree preferred.
  • AWS-Certified Welder (CW) or equivalent; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with visual inspection and testing methods.
  • Basic proficiency with SAP or similar ERP for work orders and documentation.
  • Certified in OSHA 10-hour construction safety or equivalent.
