Overview

The Welder A position requires a minimum of 3 years of marine structural journeyman welding experience. The role involves welding structural metal components according to specifications and requires knowledge of various materials and welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
  • Utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials.
  • Welds butts and bulbs in all positions and passes Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) test methods.
  • Performs tank testing and associated duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years marine structural journeyman welding experience.
  • Ability to pass a welding test in overhead and vertical positions.
  • Prior experience as a welder or vocational training is acceptable.
