Overview

GA’s Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group focuses on advanced electromagnetic technologies for military and commercial applications. They are seeking a Welder to join their team in Tupelo, MS, responsible for performing routine welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates welding equipment to produce high quality welds in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Monitors quality in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May participate in recommending proper tools and materials for work to be performed.
  • Monitors proper use of welding equipment and safety practices.
  • Maintains required certifications.
  • Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have the required certifications and demonstrate a basic understanding of welding concepts and practices.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing documentation such as diagrams, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of TIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to communicate and understand written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to identify issues and use independent judgment in performing welding functions.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to explain basic information and effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required.
