Overview

Aggreko is seeking an Industrial Field Technician in Houston, TX, to support temporary cooling tower solutions at refineries and heavy industrial facilities. The role involves the full project lifecycle, including equipment installation, maintenance, and decommissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Significant pipe fitting, piping, and hose hookup.
  • Installation/setup of temporary cooling tower equipment.
  • Installation, maintenance, repair/replacement, and rotation checks of pumps and motors.
  • Basic industrial electrical work/troubleshooting at approximately electrician-apprentice level.
  • Maintenance and inspection of cooling tower equipment.
  • Support heat exchanger and chiller hookups through piping/hoses.
  • Equipment testing and preparation.
  • Manual valve operation and other physically demanding field work.
  • Teardown/decommissioning of equipment after project completion.
  • Daily jobsite safety and inventory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial construction, refinery/petrochemical work, pipe fitting, millwright/mechanical work, industrial maintenance, pump service, field service, or similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Cooling tower experience is valuable but candidates with transferable mechanical/electrical skills should also be considered.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Forklift certification/experience.
  • Manlift/aerial lift certification/experience.
  • Refinery/heavy industrial experience.
