Overview

Certified Steel Treating Corporation (CST) is an aerospace and commercial heat treating company based in the Los Angeles area, specializing in metal processing services. The Maintenance Technician – Heat Treating role involves maintaining and repairing heat-treating furnaces and related equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heat-treating furnaces and mechanical systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and execute preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to equipment issues and document maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with equipment installations and calibration checks.
  • Participate in audits and process reviews.

Requirements

  • Strong Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance skills for heat-treating machinery.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Effective Troubleshooting and Maintenance & Repair skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Prior experience in heat treating, aerospace, or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in industrial maintenance preferred.
