Overview

Hensel Phelps is seeking Union Laborers in Los Angeles, CA, to provide support and assistance to skilled crafts on construction projects. The company values employee growth and safety, and this position is particularly open to military-affiliated job seekers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare areas for concrete placement through excavation and grading.
  • Shovel for extended periods of time.
  • Assemble and assist in the placement of concrete forms.
  • Handle concrete buckets suspended from cranes.
  • Muck concrete slabs to spread it evenly after pouring.
  • Assist in stripping concrete forms and transporting them for storage.
  • Support block masons by handling and transporting materials.
  • Assist carpenters in handling and setting door frames.
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials and tools.
  • Distribute site materials according to project plans.
  • Ensure materials are properly distributed and the site is maintained.
  • Promote a safe work environment and communicate jobsite hazards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Follow safe work practices as per Hensel Phelps safety program.
  • Ability to take initiative and ask questions.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Provide own safety footwear.
  • Effective and professional communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with consistent work attendance.
  • Preferred: Experience in construction layout, blueprint reading, and shop drawing reading.
  • Preferred: OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Preferred: CPR & First Aid Certification.
