Overview

The General Laborer I works as part of the production team to meet operational goals safely and efficiently, contributing to the production process by handling vehicles and ensuring compliance with environmental requirements. This position offers competitive pay and a variety of benefits.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and promote the Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture.
• Adhere to and model all company policies and procedures.
• Safely remove Freon, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, batteries, and excess garbage.
• Properly extract gasoline, coolant, waste oil, and other fluids in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Position vehicles on wheel stands for customer access to sellable parts.
• Loosen motor and transmission mounts and remove remaining tires and selected core items.
• Remove heater cores, copper wire, and other designated materials.
• Maintain the crush pad work area to minimize equipment downtime and ensure environmental compliance.
• Dismantle engines and transmissions and perform other related duties.
• Operate the tire machine to separate rubber tires from wheels.
• Collect and harvest dismantled core materials and address safety hazards.
• Assist customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Prepare Gaylord boxes and pallets for shipment and maintain stormwater control devices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work required hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work effectively in various outdoor weather conditions.
