Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic II at Argonne National Laboratory performs preventive maintenance, operational functions, and minor repairs to building and utility electrical and mechanical systems, focusing on Industrial/Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration repair. This position requires adherence to safety practices and policies while assisting the Maintenance Mechanic I.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to building and utility systems.
  • Assist the Maintenance Mechanic I in the maintenance and repair of building systems.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Execute work in compliance with ESHQ and security policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required knowledge and experience in disassembly, replacement, or repair of Industrial/Commercial HVAC, building structures, utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with HVAC training.
