Overview

The Maintenance Technician II position at Advocate Christ Medical Center involves performing facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role requires a skilled technician to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical systems in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Document maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, and boilers.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair patient care equipment like beds and wheelchairs.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical systems including HVAC and plumbing.
  • Perform routine general maintenance functions such as carpentry and painting.
  • Respond to emergencies like leaks and power outages as directed.
  • Respond to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
  • Inspect and repair fire doors and smoke partitions.
  • Read blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.

Requirements

  • Driver's license required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills including CMMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
  • 8-hour weekday 2nd shift and 7am-7pm on weekends.
