Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Fabrication & Building/Warehouse Lead with a diversified, multi-trade skillset. This working lead role is responsible for day-to-day fabrication in our shop and serves as the lead for our building and warehouse — keeping the facility organized, maintained, and running safely. Skyline Windows is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows and related products.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure completed orders are correctly labeled and staged for shipping.
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical and plumbing work as needed.
  • Fabricate, cut, and assemble wood components and custom pieces using woodworking equipment and hand tools.
  • Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape metal and other materials, including operating a brake for capping, flashing, and trim.
  • Read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to execute accurate fabrication.
  • Join and assemble components through welding, bolting, riveting, or adhesives to construct finished products.
  • Inspect and test work for defects and verify compliance with specifications using precision instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
  • Work with engineers, designers, field teams, and warehouse staff to resolve challenges and improve processes.
  • Record production data and inspection results accurately; recommend efficiency improvements in techniques and workflows.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade or technical training in carpentry, fabrication, or a related building trade preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience across carpentry, fabrication, and/or building maintenance.
  • Carpentry skills, including safe, proficient use of woodworking and shop equipment.
  • Ability to operate a brake and general fabrication tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
  • Basic welding/machining skills; certifications a plus.
  • Basic electrical and plumbing experience for building maintenance and repairs preferred.
  • Leadership and ownership skills to lead the fabrication team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Time management skills to meet production deadlines.

  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Rate: $40–$45/hr
