Overview

At Niagara, the Sr. Maintenance Technician ensures equipment uptime through troubleshooting and repair of production equipment, while sharing knowledge with the maintenance team and operators. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert in various equipment areas and developing best practices aligned with Niagara's maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair.
  • Share knowledge of production equipment with maintenance team and operators.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in areas such as injection molders, blow molders, and fillers.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment.
  • Work with maintenance technicians, operators, supervisors, and managers to resolve mechanical issues.
  • Develop and implement best practices for maintenance strategies.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts and assist with training.
  • Train and lead operators, mechanics, and supervisors on technical procedures.
  • Rapidly identify machine problems to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Partner with other Sr. Maintenance Technicians to resolve cross-functional problems.
  • Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts during planned downtime.
  • Create SOPs for troubleshooting machines and upload them to the BDA system.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
  • 6 years of experience in the position.
  • 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Skilled in using shop equipment and precision measuring tools.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer.
