Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Tech to join our dynamic team at Petmate. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing equipment repairs and preventative inspections on equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead technician in diagnosing machine malfunctions and helping fellow technicians learn diagnostics.
  • Define and execute preventative maintenance plans on complex equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, and work orders for maintenance and service.
  • Lead project teams for installation or relocation of machines and train team members on complex maintenance processes.
  • Oversee parameter control on equipment using integrated measuring tools.
  • Monitor and adjust equipment settings and maintain safety device controls.
  • Conduct standard exchange replacement of complex technology components.
  • Support maintenance of chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and material handling equipment.
  • Take the lead role in rebuilding and repairing equipment for optimal uptime.
  • Schedule and manage maintenance activities within CMMS.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Maintenance team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Overtime and weekends may be required.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude to learn electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience reading a voltage meter and motor control.
  • Knowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.
  • Action and goal-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with maintenance experience in relevant systems.
  • Ability to perform basic functions on a computer.
  • HS Diploma/GED required.
  • Graduation from an industrial trade school is highly preferred.
  • At least five years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant training.
  • Maintenance experience within the plastics industry.
