Overview

Devereux is seeking an energetic Entry Level Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance duties, ensuring the safety and upkeep of the center and building grounds. The organization has been providing services for over 40 years to children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with emotional and behavioral health challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment and tools in proper working conditions and ensure proper storage.
  • Select materials required to perform assignments and request additional materials as appropriate.
  • Complete work order documentation ensuring information is timely and accurate.
  • Ensure that work and shop areas are clean and organized while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Perform comprehensive maintenance duties including carpentry, electrical work, lawn care, painting, patching/plastering, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and locksmith work.
  • Lead the work of maintenance staff in projects related to areas of technical expertise.
  • Acquire proper materials under the direction of a supervisor and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Complete annual training and certifications to remain up to date.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing semi-skilled maintenance and repair work.
  • Be flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and embrace the mission of Servant Leadership.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping children.
  • Complete an extensive 2-week training program (paid) from 8:30-5:30pm on campus in Kennesaw.
  • Background checks required in a Drug Free Workplace.
