Overview

Austin Industrial is a leading provider of maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. They are seeking a Combo Welder who can join metal parts using various welding techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Use welding equipment to weld or tack weld pieces together.
  • Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas.
  • Adjust the flow of gas and air to reach expected flame characteristics.
  • Preheat work pieces using a torch.
  • Fill holes or correct mistakes in metal work pieces.
  • Check the weakness of work pieces and measure them for specifications.
  • Climb ladders or work on scaffolds to take apart textures.
  • Signal crane operators to lift large work pieces.
  • Use thermal-cutting equipment to dismount metal assemblies or cut scrap metal.
  • Use hoists, cranes, and hand tools to place and protect work pieces.
  • Choose weld locations based on metal type and thickness.
  • Instruct and manipulate flame or electrodes to shape metal.
  • Join pieces together and add metal to develop parts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • No minimum education requirements.
  • Weld Test, TWIC, and DL certifications required.
  • 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience required.
