Overview

Watco is seeking a Harbor Crane / Crawler Crane Mechanic to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various types of cranes and related equipment, ensuring safety and operational standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains Mobile and Crawler crane equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Performs routine maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment.
• Operates cranes and aerial equipment at heights to evaluate and verify repairs.
• Reads and interprets technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to prepare and execute work.
• Completes required work reports accurately.
• Maintains and cares for company tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
• Provides training or mentorship to other technicians and supports continuous learning.
• Accesses, reviews, and closes work orders accurately using the company's maintenance management system.
• Adheres to all safety protocols and promotes a clean, orderly work environment.
• Works flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience with shore, friction, and hydraulic cranes is required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and complete tasks on time.
• Proficient in English with basic math skills.
• Physically able to bend, stoop, climb, twist, and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and customers.
• Computer proficient with strong email communication skills.
• TWIC Card or the ability to obtain one.
• NCCCO Certification preferred but not required.
• High School or GED equivalent.

Additional Information

• Pay: $35.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Schedule: 12 hour shifts; weekend work as needed
• Location: 14035 Industrial Road, Houston, TX 77015
