Overview

VAM USA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their R&D Lab in Houston, Texas. The company is a leader in premium connection solutions for the oil and gas industry, with multiple production facilities and technology research centers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage preventive maintenance for equipment as scheduled.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as required.
  • Test operation of equipment following repair or servicing.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical repair and installation to meet applicable codes.
  • Perform plumbing repair and installation to meet applicable codes.
  • Install piping, hoses, and tubing for air, hydraulic and water as required.
  • Service and repair high pressure components used for testing.
  • Manage spare parts inventory for R&D equipment.
  • Maintain organization and effectiveness of R&D tool room.
  • Manage on-site contractors and complete all applicable permits.
  • Use all required hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Provide proper record keeping and documentation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical parts manuals.
  • Maintain and support the LOTO program.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Follow all applicable work instructions and company policies.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Requires use of Smartsheet / MS Excel for maintenance management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance and machine tool repair experience.
  • Coursework in mechanics, electrical, electronics, metallurgy, or related field.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Should be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions well.
