Overview

The Aircraft Mechanic II – UH60 is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various aircraft systems, including structure, landing gear, and engines. This role requires a valid A&P license and significant experience in aviation maintenance, particularly with rotary wing aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
  • Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and functional components using various tools and equipment.
  • Reads and interprets maintenance manuals and technical data to determine repair methods.
  • Performs various inspections and examines engines for malfunctions.
  • Inspects jet engine turbine blades and tests engine operation using diagnostic equipment.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged engine components and reassembles engines in aircraft.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems and performs maintenance inspections.
  • Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft and verifies work performed.
  • May service engines and airframe components and specialize in structural or engine repair.

Requirements

  • Valid up-to-date A&P license or three years aviation maintenance experience without an A&P license.
  • Two years on the assigned UH60 MDS.
  • Three years rotary wing aircraft experience.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft logbooks, military technical publications, and ULLS-A(E).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
