Overview

The UH60 Aircraft Mechanic I is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various aircraft systems, including structure, landing gear, and engines. The role requires a valid A&P license or significant aviation maintenance experience, and involves performing inspections and repairs to ensure aircraft safety and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure and systems.
  • Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and components.
  • Reads and interprets maintenance manuals and technical data.
  • Performs various inspections on aircraft engines and components.
  • Tests engine operation using diagnostic equipment.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged engine components.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring systems.
  • Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections.
  • Supervises jacking and towing of aircraft.
  • Enters maintenance records and verifies work performed.
  • May service engines and airframe components at line station.
  • Specializes in repair and modification of aircraft parts.

Requirements

  • Valid up-to-date A&P license or three years aviation maintenance experience.
  • Two years rotary wing aircraft experience.
  • Two years experience on the assigned MDS (UH60).
  • All experience must be within the last six years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials.
  • Must possess own shadowed/etched tools and toolbox.
  • Good communication skills and adaptability.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Skill in reading and interpreting technical data.
