Signode is a leading manufacturer of transit packaging solutions with over $2B in revenue and 80+ manufacturing facilities worldwide. The Maintenance Technician II role focuses on ensuring efficient production operations and servicing complex equipment while adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic mechanical systems.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders.
  • Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance and report findings.
  • Perform corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
  • Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended downtime.
  • Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
  • Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury.
  • Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED and mechanical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in mechanic.
  • Five (5) years of mechanical technical hands-on experience.
  • Ability to read and use schematics, gauges, tools and instruments.
  • Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in Industrial Maintenance environment.
  • Experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
  • Good working knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, pumps, valves, cylinders, conveyors, etc.
  • Forklifts and scissor lift driving experience is preferred.

Additional Information

  • Shift: 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am, Monday - Thursday 12hr days one week, then Monday - Wednesday 12hr days the next week.
