Overview

Oshkosh AeroTech, a leading provider of aviation ground support products, is seeking a Welder responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture equipment according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, join, and/or repair equipment and metal structures using MIG, TIG, Inner shield, and Flux-cored Arc Welding techniques.
  • Determine layout of weld parts according to drawings and company/customer requirements.
  • Weld according to Oshkosh AeroTech specifications.
  • Apply specialized skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment in the area of expertise.
  • Execute welds in all positions and a variety of shapes.
  • Assist during welding of components in areas of expertise.
  • Assist with design and set-up of work centers.
  • Troubleshoot problems and communicate design discrepancies.
  • Complete required weld documentation including line check sheets and material movement paperwork.
  • Move weldment to the next process verifying it meets specifications.
  • Use material handling equipment to move parts and components as required.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and keep all employees aware of dangers in the work area.
  • Practice good housekeeping in the work area.
  • Understand and follow all Hazardous Waste Management duties and responsibilities.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical, vocational, or military training or related experience.
  • Two or more years of welding experience with at least one year in a similar environment.
  • Ability to work productively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
  • Appropriate welding certifications capable of meeting AWS D1.1 requirements.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Crane and jib certification.
  • Appropriate moving vehicle certifications.

What you'll be running
