Overview

The 1st Class Pipe Welder will play a crucial role in the construction of ships and other marine vessels, contributing to their integrity, safety, and functionality. This full-time position includes built-in overtime and requires passing a 6g unrestricted pipe welding test.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various welding tasks, including Stick Welding, Socket Welding, and Butt Welding, focusing on producing consistent, high-quality welds.
  • Work closely with team members, including welders, pipefitters, and supervisors, to coordinate tasks and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pipe Welder in shipbuilding or maritime construction (3 years preferred).
  • Must be able to pass and certify on 6g.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform various welding functions with precision.
  • Capable of handling a physical workload and working in various positions.
  • Ability to consistently produce welds that meet quality and production standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Additional technical training or certification in welding, fabrication, or shipbuilding preferred.

  • The schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM and Friday 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
  • The position includes 6 hours of built-in overtime with additional overtime typically available.
