Overview

Airgas is seeking an Equipment Repair Technician I in Houston, TX, to repair, refurbish, and maintain engine-driven welding equipment and generators. The company values diversity and inclusion, aiming to create a supportive work environment for its employees.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, refurbishes, and maintains engine-driven welding equipment and generators.
  • Assembles electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.
  • Follows health and safety guidelines to contribute to a culture of safety.
  • Restores and maintains all Electric and Engine Drives to ensure peak performance.
  • Tests and calibrates machines to ensure precision and reliability.
  • Repaints parts and applies decals to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Identifies and updates parts while completing essential preventative maintenance.
  • Coordinates parts ordering to ensure efficient repairs.
  • Inspects returned equipment for proper operation.
  • Uses a forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment to organize parts.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Prepares and completes documentation for all machine repairs.
  • Provides on-site service to support equipment and customers as needed.
  • Communicates openly with branch personnel.
  • Educates customers on effective equipment for their projects.
  • Supports field operations to achieve business goals.
  • Performs other related duties as a collaborative team member.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • A Valid Driver License and good driving record.
  • 0-1 years of related technical experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work autonomously while staying connected to team goals.
