Overview

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Machining Tech II - 2nd Shift position in Fullerton, CA involves operating and maintaining production machines to meet established production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Operates various standard and specialized machines to precision tolerances.
  • Performs minor adjustments and tool changes.
  • Loads parts/material into bins, hoppers, and feeders; removes finished parts.
  • Observes operations for malfunction or improper processing and corrects or reports them.
  • Performs other related tasks such as assembling, drilling, and sorting.
  • Checks multiple operations on a part using standard gauges.
  • Reads micrometers, indicators, and work order routers.
  • Must understand cutting tools, drills, and taps.
  • Submits 'first article' to print.
  • Assists in training machine operators.
  • Keeps work area clean, safe, and orderly.

Requirements

  • Willing to learn or have a working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior machining experience.
  • Able to read/interpret part drawings and use quality tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Understand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine being operated.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
