Overview

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Maintenance Technician I, Utility Worker for the 2nd Shift at their Fullerton, CA location. HFS is a leading global provider of aerospace fastening systems and plays a crucial role in various industries including aerospace and transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble machines and take off parts for replacement or repair using cranes, hoists, hand tools, and jacks.
  • Examine broken machine parts and identify defective parts or give recommendations to supervisors on repair requirements.
  • Replace, fix, or realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications.
  • Put machine parts together after completing maintenance and repair work.
  • Assist other maintenance team members in meeting department requirements.
  • Work independently with little supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of functioning machines.
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of hydraulic systems and troubleshoot using deductive reasoning and schematics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, apprenticeship, or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral.
  • Electrical controls awareness a plus.
  • Knowledge of machine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and blueprint reading.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing injection presses.
  • 3+ years previous manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Fluency in English, written and oral.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate as part of a cell team.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
