Overview

Magellan Aerospace is a global aerospace company providing complex assemblies and systems solutions to aircraft and engine manufacturers, as well as defense and space agencies. The CNC Machinist operates and maintains machine shop equipment for the repair or manufacture of gas turbine engine parts.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Euravia North America in a professional manner.
  • Follows established policies and procedures.
  • Operates manual or CNC machine tools as authorized.
  • Programs CNC equipment if authorized.
  • Carries out operations according to job instructions and approved documentation.
  • Ensures completed work is stamped off or signed as instructed.
  • Uses precision measuring and gauging tools, ensuring they are calibrated and in good working order.
  • Performs repair and understands blueprints and company manufacturing manuals.
  • Follows written and verbal instructions.
  • Relates to others in a courteous manner.
  • Learns and adapts to varied work assignments.
  • Demonstrates practical and technical knowledge required for responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates proper judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Performs work with little or no supervision.
  • Trains junior staff in the operation and maintenance of machine shop equipment if required.
  • Demonstrates reliability through timely task completion.
  • Produces a significant volume of work efficiently.
  • Willingly accepts other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma (or equivalent) is desired.
  • Advanced training in the operation and programming of CNC machinery is desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information.
  • Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
  • Aptitude for using precise close tolerance measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
