Overview

As a Supervisor of Mechanical Design Engineering at Enertech, a business unit of Curtiss-Wright, you will lead a team of mechanical design engineers working on advanced power plant designs, including Small Modular Reactors and Generation IV nuclear power plants. This role involves guiding the development of technical solutions for both existing and new products in a fast-paced environment focused on customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a team of mechanical design engineers.
  • Design parts and assemblies for various product lines including valves and hydraulic assemblies.
  • Create schematic and assembly drawings using Solidworks or AutoCAD.
  • Review manufacturing drawings and determine manufacturing processes.
  • Develop engineering solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs and RFIs.
  • Collaborate with the analysis team on parts or assemblies requiring FEA or CFD.
  • Communicate with customers on project and design-related challenges.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial and machine design.
  • Lead roles in product development and engineering processes.
  • Understanding of different manufacturing processes such as casting and machining.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and related standards for drawing creation.
  • Proficiency in engineering processes like DFMA, DMAIC, and FMEA.
  • In-depth understanding of ASME standards pertaining to valve design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and schematics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industrial hydraulics and electrical equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MTTF or MTBF concepts related to product quality is a plus.
