Overview

AM Mechanical is a nationally based design/build mechanical contractor focused on the installation of commercial process piping systems across various industries. As a Journeyman Pipefitter, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the installation of turnkey mechanical piping systems on construction sites and operating facilities while adhering to high-quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and scale dimensions from blueprints to lay out overhead piping distribution.
  • Install/fabricate hangers, wall supports, and floor supports for piping systems.
  • Install a variety of piping system specifications using different joining methods.
  • Cut, thread, and fit pipe to specifications using tools like saws and pipe threaders.
  • Layout, install, and assemble facility equipment per detailed drawings.
  • Perform piping system validation using pressure testing techniques.
  • Work with jobsite foreman and other pipefitters and welders to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules.
  • Engage in problem solving with team members to ensure installation quality.
  • Operate and supervise equipment and machinery such as forklifts and power tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school education.
  • At least 3 years of experience installing process or plumbing piping systems.
  • Working knowledge of materials and installation in the mechanical construction industry.
  • Ability to travel to construction projects across the country on a rotating schedule.
  • Flexible work schedule including Monday-Saturday (10-hour days) and occasional evenings and Sundays.
  • Valid driver's license; REAL ID or passport required for travel.
