Overview

SSOE is seeking a Plumbing Engineer with experience in Plumbing and Mechanical systems for Healthcare and Commercial buildings. The company values innovation and offers a supportive culture while providing opportunities for career growth and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculation of ductwork static pressure calculations and pump head calculations.
  • Provide engineering and 3D Revit support for multiple projects including piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Receive instructions on specific assignment objectives and assist in deriving solutions to unusual problems.
  • Review work with supervisors to ensure sound engineering practices and professional judgment.
  • Work with other Engineers, Project Managers, Clients, and stakeholders on assigned objectives.
  • Coordinate with the project engineer for engineering guidance as required.
  • Develop an understanding with other engineering disciplines for design package needs.
  • Serve as a job captain on single discipline projects.
  • Devise new approaches and solutions to problems and communicate them to the team.
  • Perform field verifications/site walks to identify and resolve engineering problems.
  • Review project construction submittals for conformance with contract documents.
  • Represent the firm in meetings and conferences to resolve important questions and plan projects.
  • Travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, qualifying for licensure in the state of practice.
  • PE or PE-tracked preferred.
  • Eight or more years of related practical experience required.
  • Demonstrable experience in mechanical systems including piping, plumbing, and fire systems.
  • Experience with compressed air and medical gas piping.
  • Proficiency in REVIT required.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD required.
  • Experience with Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of International Building Codes, ASHRAE Standards, ASPE Standards, and NFPA Standards.
  • Experience in Commercial, Education, Aviation, and Healthcare industries.
