Overview

The Field Tank Welder position in Texas City, Texas involves performing welding and grinding functions according to job specifications, while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The role requires close interaction with supervision and adherence to the company's core values and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its core values.
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards.
  • Efficiently produce quality welds.
  • Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds.
  • Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.
  • Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding job site issues.
  • Comply with all Matrix safety policies and programs.
  • Identify and take corrective action on safety hazards.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass various weld tests for tank and specialty vessel welding.
  • Tank building experience preferred.
  • Must maintain an active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening.
  • Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class Courses.
  • Must complete Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training.
  • Must possess a valid TWIC card.
  • Must maintain clean shaven and/or free of facial hair for respirator/face mask.
  • Must be willing to frequently travel/relocate.
  • Must be willing to work frequent overtime.
