Overview

The Traveling Welder position involves providing general construction labor tasks as part of a welding crew to erect precast concrete panels, ensuring efficiency and safety in the process.

Responsibilities

  • Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to weld precast concrete panels.
  • Takes work direction from detail or erection crew foreperson.
  • May perform work of a miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson.
  • Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner.
  • Handles equipment in a responsible manner.
  • Follows established safety procedures and policies.

Requirements

  • Welding experience.
  • Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times.
  • Ability to work from heights, including but not limited to ladders and aerial work platforms.
  • Ability to obtain membership to a local union.
  • General knowledge of construction practices.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 50% or more, including occasional overnight travel, and to work hours outside the standard schedule as needed.
  • 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certified Welder (AWS, 3g & 4g) (preferred).
