Overview

The Construction Field Engineer – Roadway / Structures will support construction oversight on transportation and public infrastructure projects, particularly for the Los Angeles World Airports ATMP Landside Improvements Project.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support daily field inspections to verify construction activities follow approved plans and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain checklists for structures inspections and field material sampling.
• Assist in verifying that materials and methods conform to contract documents and specifications.
• Maintain detailed project records including daily reports and as-built documentation.
• Assist with the review and processing of submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Monitor contractor progress and participate in schedule reviews.
• Support jobsite safety and environmental compliance.
• Develop drawings and verify grades for various structural elements.
• Communicate with stakeholders to resolve field issues.
• Assist with punchlists and closeout documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
• Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with construction codes and laws.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office and related construction packages.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• PE License in the State of California is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction inspection and management experience on similar projects.
