Overview

We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals at our facility in Ham Lake, MN. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail, working in a climate-controlled and clean shop environment with day shift hours.

Responsibilities

  • Reading a BOM (Bill of Materials) and/or Work Order to understand what components are required for each welding operation
  • Gathering the needed materials together from various locations in the weld shop
  • Using visual and functional testing methods including jigs to confirm that all components meet our quality standards
  • Modify components as needed using cutting, grinding, drilling techniques to prepare for welding
  • Place non-compliant components in our material review area for further review by our MRB team
  • Produce weldment in accordance with our production standards
  • Use measurement devices and other tools/aids to ensure that weldment conforms to required specifications
  • Utilize quality control checklists to verify that all critical assembly operations have been completed
  • Submit final paperwork to have weldments produced within our ERP system when necessary
  • Continually review weld shop inventory levels and submit the proper notification when replenishment is needed
  • Contribute to keeping the weld shop environment clean and organized

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of welding experience (whether through a job or schooling)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic math skills to calculate measurements and dimensions accurately
  • Experience working in a shop environment and using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to stand for approximately 8 hours per day while performing a variety of production tasks
  • Capable of occasionally lifting as much as 40 pounds when needing to move materials around the shop
  • High School Diploma
