The Welder role involves high-quality welding on various metals, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding on various metals and components.
  • Follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment.
  • Prepare materials and joints for welding.
  • Ensure welds meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Inspect finished welds for quality.
  • Collaborate with fabricators and technicians.
  • Adhere to strict safety procedures and industry regulations.
  • Assist in fitting, assembly, and occasional repairs or modifications.

Requirements

  • Strong welding skills, including Arc Welding and general Welding techniques.
  • Proficiency in TIG Welding and MIG Welding for various applications.
  • Knowledge of materials, including properties of metals and appropriate welding methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
  • Experience with fabrication, fitting, and use of hand and power tools in an industrial environment.
  • Previous welding experience in oil and gas, power generation, aerospace, or similar sectors is beneficial.
  • Relevant welding certifications and/or vocational training in welding or metal fabrication are preferred.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
