Overview

The Welder is responsible for fitting and welding steel, aluminum, and stainless steel parts using MIG and/or TIG processes. The role requires attention to detail and may involve performing miscellaneous tasks as assigned by a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Set up welding machines based on the job at hand.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
  • MIG or TIG weld steel, aluminum, or stainless steel.
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
  • Wear PPE, including a welding helmet and gloves.
  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment.
  • Follow company rules and policies.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow safety rules and quality standards.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner.
  • Show up at work on time and as scheduled.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Two years of experience with MIG or TIG welding required.
  • Experience with steel, aluminum, and/or stainless steel preferred.
  • Current and valid certification a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Basic math skills.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle.
