Overview

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, with over 20,000 employees. They are seeking a Journeyman Millwright for maintenance work at a facility in Houston, TX, focusing on increasing plant production and reducing downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and written instructions.
  • Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantles machines and moves machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers.
  • Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
  • Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • Involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
  • Removes plant equipment, disassembles, repairs, and reinstalls.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Millwright required.
  • Experience working with centrifugal pumps, troubleshooting, rebuilding, seal changes, and pump motor alignment.
  • NCCER Plus highly preferred.
  • Ability to lead the job in repair and replacement of large complex rotating equipment.
  • Background check and drug test required.

  • Non-exempt role; reports to the Supervisor.
  • Must be available to work overtime and call-outs as needed.
  • 5/8's work schedule; subject to change.
