Overview

InPower manufactures engineered-to-order electrical distribution and control solutions for industrial applications. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Grinder / Metal Finishing Operator to join our sheet-metal fabrication team, responsible for grinding, deburring, blending, and finishing welded and fabricated metal parts to meet quality and appearance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Grind and finish welded and fabricated metal components.
  • Remove weld spatter, sharp edges, burrs, and excess material.
  • Blend welds and smooth metal surfaces according to specifications.
  • Use angle grinders, die grinders, sanders, and other hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect finished parts for defects, imperfections, and proper appearance.
  • Read and follow drawings, work instructions, and job specifications.
  • Maintain consistent quality and production standards.
  • Prepare parts for powder coating, plating, or other finishing processes.
  • Properly identify and handle different types and thicknesses of metal.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other fabrication and production duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in metal grinding, finishing, welding, or fabrication required.
  • Experience working with sheet metal is required.
  • Ability to safely operate hand grinders and power tools.
  • Ability to read basic shop drawings and measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and equipment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move metal parts and materials.
  • Ability to repeatedly use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and face protection.
  • Ability to work around noise, dust, sparks, and metal debris.
