Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company dedicated to advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure to improve lives. The Maintenance Technician position involves preventive and repair maintenance, electrical, electronic, and mechanical work within the Coatings Division.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with electrical work.
  • Learn basic metal fabrication.
  • Communicate with other maintenance and production team members.
  • Operate gauging equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and dial calipers.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Complete Lock-Out/Tag-Out training.
  • Climb and work from ladders, aerial platforms, bridge cranes, and roofs in excess of 80 feet.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment.
  • Record labor and materials used on each repair.

Requirements

  • 0-1 year of relevant experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to spend 75% of workday standing or walking.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • High awareness for safety.
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity.

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
  • Domestic travel overnight up to 2% annually.
