Overview

The Lead Composite Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, bonding, and finishing composite components while providing leadership to technicians. The company designs and manufactures thermal solutions for various sectors, supporting mission-critical applications across extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, bond, and finish composite parts and subassemblies
  • Perform secondary bonding, hardware installation, drilling, trimming, and sanding
  • Prepare and apply structural adhesives per specifications
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements
  • Complete manufacturing documentation and support rework activities
  • Lead and mentor technicians, assign daily tasks, and troubleshoot assembly issues
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain schedules and resolve problems
  • Promote a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and assembly drawings
  • Experience with hand tools, measuring equipment, and bonding processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with adhesive bonding and surface preparation techniques preferred
  • Ability to safely work with chemicals and adhesives
