Overview

Standex International is a global industrial growth company that operates through market-leading brands in various sectors, including aerospace and defense. The Grinder position involves using hand and mechanical grinders to remove material from parts to achieve specified finishes and thicknesses.

Responsibilities

  • Set up parts on pedestals and clean them using prescribed cleaning agents.
  • Operate grinding and related tools to remove excess material and burrs from surfaces.
  • Deburr edges, buff, hone, or polish metal.
  • Perform grind, jitterbug, and deburr operations to support the production schedule.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in on-the-job training as directed.

Requirements

  • No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be open to overtime.
  • Six months experience in a warehouse production or manufacturing environment is valued.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is valued.
  • Ability to be a team player and detail-oriented.
