Overview

The Quality Technician role is essential for maintaining high production standards through detailed inspections and equipment calibration. The position emphasizes teamwork and safety while ensuring that products meet quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace the 1 T.E.A.M culture.
  • Always wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Keep equipment in the facility on calibration schedule.
  • Keep Gage Pak updated.
  • Send out equipment for calibration.
  • Calibrate equipment where possible.
  • Repair equipment where possible.
  • Verify that all automated quality measuring devices are operational daily.
  • Verify that all 'in line' processes are operational daily.
  • Inspect shipments for damage and accuracy where required.
  • Perform audits of tube and inspection reports on mills and recut.
  • Perform first piece inspections for mills and recut.
  • Inspect measuring equipment in-use on the floor for conformance.
  • Assist shipping and sales with product identification and disposition.
  • Enter sample data for physical testing on product.
  • Prepare and collect samples for physical testing.
  • Facilitate/perform rework of product where required.
  • Perform inventories of product in warehouse.
  • Assist in root cause investigation and corrective action determination for claims.
  • Assist in entering claims for internal and external claims.
  • Disposition coils and finished product to hold/good status in system.
  • Inspect and disposition material from blowout area.
  • Train employees in regard to quality concepts and procedures.
  • Perform inspections using CMMS: Polyworks Software.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Quality auditor training (desired).
  • Internal auditor certification (preferred).
  • CAD/Polyworks experience (strongly desired).
