Overview

The Wirebond Technician position at DRS involves the wire bonding of focal plane arrays, requiring technical support for various components and processes. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on moderately complex components and processes.
  • Test, modify, rework, and repair electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Work from moderately complex wiring and assembly drawings and engineering specifications.
  • Design and test prototype assemblies and production units.
  • Use judgment in re-working or re-wiring to meet quality control specifications.
  • Test, inspect, and repair electronic, optical, or mechanical assemblies.
  • Work under minimal supervision and provide guidance to other technicians.
  • Perform related manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in training new team members.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials.
  • Meet production deadlines and maintain quality of finished products.
  • Balance throughput requirements between different product areas.
  • Support and communicate the mission and values of the organization.
  • Operate various types of manufacturing and process equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma is required.
  • 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience in wire-bonding or semiconductor device processing.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Capable of working in a clean room environment.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and excellent data collection and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of computer skills such as Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Location: Dallas TX
  • Schedule: 1st 9/80
  • Primarily non-cleanroom area with secondary Class 100 Semiconductor Cleanroom.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain it.
