Overview

The Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance at Walmart is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders and coordinating with contractors, all while adhering to safety regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair equipment while documenting signs of wear and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Order parts, track inventory, submit warranty claims, and process maintenance invoices accurately.
  • Identify hazards, take corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teams to meet business priorities and maintain compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
  • No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
