Overview

The Railcar Unloader position at Martin Marietta involves operating mobile equipment to move raw materials and load finished products, while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities

  • Operate various mobile equipment, including motor graders, track mobiles, and haul units.
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections on equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on service mobile equipment and report needed repairs.
  • Follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures set forth by MSHA/OSHA.
  • Provide relief in other plant operations such as rail unloading and maintenance.
  • Maintain the quality of all products.
  • Assist with equipment and plant repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • 1+ years heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to complete pre-shift inspection reports.
  • Must be able to work irregular shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Basic math skills, including calculations using fractions and percentages.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and operation of large power equipment.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to solve problems and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
