Overview

This position is for the Railcar Division as an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic, focusing on commissioning and supporting new locomotives and coaches. The role involves hands-on mechanical and electrical work on cutting-edge diesel-electric vehicles that connect cities across the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Commission and support new locomotives and coaches.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Use diagnostic software and schematics to solve real-world problems.
  • Perform field modifications to improve performance and reliability.
  • Work closely with experienced technicians and engineers.
  • Document work and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Follow safety procedures and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • A technical school diploma or equivalent (high school diploma or GED required).
  • A strong interest in hands-on mechanical and electrical work.
  • Experience working on any type of machinery or vehicle, such as cars, trucks, submarines, boats, tractors, heavy machinery, welding, etc.
  • Open to candidates with construction or electrical experience.
  • A team-oriented mindset and good communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing.
