Overview

The Quality Inspector performs advanced inspections using various metrology and NDE systems, serving as a technical expert and mentor while ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting engineering and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, documentation, welding, and NDE inspections.
• Program, validate and optimize CMM inspection programs.
• Conduct advanced dimensional inspections using various inspection technologies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T.
• Conduct receiving, in-process, final, source, and customer witness inspections.
• Support engineering with dimensional analysis and product disposition.
• Lead measurement system troubleshooting and metrology investigations.
• Support NCRs and root cause investigations.
• Mentor and train lower-level inspectors.
• Support ABS, DNV, and customer audits.
• Drive continuous improvement in metrology and inspection.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Degree, Trade School Certification, or equivalent experience.
• Qualification in Hexagon CMM/FARO/Romer/Portable CMM/Laser Scanner.
• 4 to 6 years of experience with CMM, Romer Arm, Faro Arm, and automatic inspection equipment.
• 4 to 6 years of dimensional inspection and metrology experience in relevant industries.
• Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
• NDE Certifications or experience in various testing methods.
• Experience with API standards.
• Experience with Creo/CAD.
• Preferred: ASNT Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Radiography Testing (RT) Level II.
• Preferred: ASQ CMI or equivalent certificates.
• Preferred: Experience supporting customer audits and regulatory inspections.

Additional Information

• Ability to pass dimensional inspection training and testing.
• Possess knowledge of precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of ABS and DNV requirements for drilling equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of API requirements is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn different software programs.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, as required.
• Expert understanding of dimensional inspection and metrology principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to mentor and train inspectors and technicians.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
