Overview

The Engineering Technician IV position involves performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials, while communicating effectively with various stakeholders. The role requires maintaining safety standards and quality on projects, as well as managing technician schedules and project data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, and client representatives regarding project requirements.
  • Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
  • Tabulate and submit data and observations in written and digital reports.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
  • Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards and perform pre-task planning.
  • Train lower-level technicians and supervise activities of other engineering technicians.
  • Assist Project Manager in the development of scope for testing and inspection services.
  • Track projects and communicate with clients regarding project timelines and status.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
  • Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history may be required.
