Overview

Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) is celebrating 50 years of innovation in producing products that protect the country and individual warfighters. The company is located in Downers Grove, Illinois, and is looking for an Assembler-Initiator to join their team in assembling complex electro-explosive initiators for the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble small, complex electro-explosive initiators utilizing standardized procedures.
  • Use basic hand tools to build and troubleshoot assemblies.
  • Follow work instructions, procedures, and drawings while maintaining quality focus.
  • Work with small components under microscopes for extended periods.
  • Interpret work instructions and maintain attention to detail in record keeping.
  • Operate specialized manufacturing and automated equipment.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Lawful US person (ITAR restrictions).
  • Eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003.
  • Experience with work instructions, techniques, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work carefully on small, detailed parts.
  • Utmost attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of PPE requirements.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
